You may be able to claim a Medicare rebate of $80 for up to 12 individual sessions each year with your Psychologist, if you are referred by your family Doctor (General Practitioner) or Psychiatrist.

To be eligible for the rebate, you will need to make a double appointment with your GP who will discuss your issues and may place you on a Mental Health Care Plan and refer you to see an accredited psychologist. Once this is obtained, you can receive a rebate from Medicare on completion of each session with your Psychologist.
